Message from TCAPS Board of Education

Board Vacancy Announced

Glenn Loomis

Dear Staff and Community,

At the Board of Education meeting held  Monday, February 10, 2025, Trustee Andrew Raymond announced his resignation from TCAPS Board of Education. Raymond shared his decision was made after careful consideration of the time and commitment  necessary to the position, having recently been named the next Chief Executive Officer for Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.

I sincerely thank Trustee Raymond for his four years of service to the Board of Education. He provided a calming demeanor and led with focus and dedication. While it is sad to lose such  a valued board member, I am confident others will continue his efforts to maximize opportunities for all who teach and learn at TCAPS.

Moving forward, the vacancy will be filled as an interim board position beginning March 10, 2025 through December 31, 2026. To be eligible, a candidate must be a registered voter in the TCAPS district, at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, a resident of the State of Michigan for at least 30 days, and a resident of the school district on or before the 30th day prior to the date of the election.  Property ownership is not a requirement.
