TCAPS Receives 20th Consecutive Certificate of Excellence in Annual Financial Reporting
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) achieved the Certificate of Excellence (COE) in Financial Reporting for the 20th consecutive year for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) presented the award to TCAPS for the fiscal year 2024.
The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is a voluntary audit. By participating in the audit, school districts demonstrate a commitment to financial transparency. TCAPS submits their Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for review annually by a team of financial professionals who provide feedback to improve future documents. A district’s participation can facilitate bond ratings and continuing bond disclosure processes.
“TCAPS’ commitment to transparency and accurate financial reporting is showcased through this honor,” stated Superintendent Dr. John VanWagoner. “We strive to ensure the highest level of financial stewardship for our community.”
