LL News: 11.17.24 Prideful Panther Parade

TEACHER CONFERENCE MEALS: A special thanks goes out to the families who donated meals for our teachers and to the families who supported our Bookfair last week!

SKI CLUB 2025 is upon us! Join us on Thursdays beginning in January. The program includes a weekly lesson (at least 4) and weekly lift, with optional rental and Sunday add on. In addition, there is also open skiing in March (rental not included). Click he    re for more info/links to forms.

PRIDEFUL PARADE: We’re helping our students recognize that success takes hard work and determination! Each teacher has nominated a few students who show exemplary demonstration of our Lifelong Guidelines. Those students will be featured in a Parade at 3:45 PM on Tuesday.  Families of students who are being highlighted will receive an email invitation.  We look forward to celebrating students each month as we continue to work towards our growth goals!

NEGATIVE THINKING:  A few weeks back we shared information about Restorative Practices that we are implementing at Long Lake. I am thankful for the insightful ideas that are shared by students as we try to problem-solve conflict.  One mindset that can get in the way of problem-solving is negative thinking. Sometimes we feel down in the dumps and it’s hard to not take things personally. Some kids get into a habit of turning small setbacks into bleak, self-critical thoughts. Oftentimes, children need help getting out of their negative heads. One powerful way we can help struggling children feel better is to help them change the negative thinking pattern.  The Child Mind Institute offers practical strategies for helping students with exactly that!  Check out this article about changing negative thinking patterns:
