TCAPS' Talented & Gifted Program Invites Students to Register for Cognitive Ability Testing (CogAT)
Registration deadline is Monday, January 20, 2025
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) will administer the Cognitive Ability Test (CogAT) in February for all current 3rd-grade students interested in the Talented and Gifted (TAG) program next school year. Students identified through the process are invited to attend the TAG magnet school located at Central Grade School.
TCAPS TAG program creates learning communities where students are surrounded by peers who are also academically talented and gifted. This environment is key to the success of the program, helping students grow emotionally while sharing and learning from one another’s ideas.
TCAPS will administer the CogAT for any 3rd grade student interested in applying to the TAG program. Students identified through the testing will be invited to attend TAG programming at Central Grade School for the 2025-2026 school year. Testing will take place at the student's home school from February 6 to February 20, 2025.
Families within TCAPS will receive detailed testing information from your student’s school by email. Families outside TCAPS will be contacted to confirm their testing location after online registration and will receive specific testing details at that time.
Completion of the online registration form must be submitted in order for your student to be tested. The deadline for registration is Monday, January 20, 2025.
