Message from Superintendent John VanWagoner
Dear TCAPS Staff & Families:
I invite you to watch this 4 minute informational video highlighting details of the capital bond proposal on the August 6 ballot.
This proposal projects no increase over the current debt millage rate of 3.1 mills. With a focus of Safe, Warm, and Dry, the bond proposal would include:
Safe
- Secure entry vestibules at all TCAPS school buildings
- Safety and security infrastructure upgrades
- Bleacher replacements in six buildings
- ADA upgrades to buildings, parking lots, playgrounds, and bleachers
- Safety improvements at 13 locations including parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and curbs
- Technology upgrades
- Replacement of aged buses
Warm
- Replacement of 26 boilers
- Replacement of 260 heat pumps
Dry
- Replacement of 800,000 square feet of aged roofing
- Playground drainage upgrades at five buildings
Additional Projects
- Renovation of Central Grade School
- Facility improvements at all schools for instructional enhancements

Approximately 35,000 square feet of learning space enhancements for K-12 music and K-8 STEM programming
