The TCC Girls Basketball team picked up another win last night, improving their record to 11-5. It was a strong team effort, with Lucia France leading the way with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Lorelai Zielinski had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Kylie Ball added 12 points and 2 steals. Jakiah Brumfield facilitated the offense with 11 points, 8 assists, and 5 steals. The Trojans have a big matchup this Friday at 5:30 PM against TC West—come out and support the team!
We are opening our membership for our Academic Communities for any students in grades 10-12. Each community engages students in experiences to enrich their academic work in their specific area. Students can use their memberships for college applications, resumes, and scholarships. Students can join more than one community if they have a strong interest in multiple areas. See your morning announcement email for more info!
If you’re interested in spreading awareness regarding wealth inequality and taking action to promote change within our community, join Central’s new club, Students Against Greed. The club strives to make a difference for those in need and challenge the harmful economic systems that keep greed in control. If you are interested in supporting this mission, a meeting will be held every Thursday after school in Mrs. Paul’s room, C183.
Do you have any FAFSA questions? Nick Messing from Michigan Student Aid will be here Feb. 19th from 8:15 -10:15am to meet with students in the Cafeteria. Sign up in the LMC for a ten-minute appointment; attendance will be excused. Seniors and their Parents are invited to attend our FAFSA Workshop that evening from 5:30-7:30am in the Cafe.
Students Demand Action is showing the movie The Hate U Give at the State Theater on Thursday; the movie starts at 6:30. There will be food and students get in free!
