West Middle School Students to Participate in College Visit to NMC—October 31st-Nov. 7th

Seventh grade students from Traverse City West Middle School will participate in a field trip to Northwestern Michigan College on October 31, November 2 and November 7, 2017.

Willow Hill Elementary School Receives $500 TBA Credit Union Classroom Grant

Willow Hill Elementary School art teacher Tara Gang wrote and received a grant of $500 from TBA Credit Union for the Willow Hill Visual Arts Program.

Board of Education Coffee Conversation—October 26th

On Thursday, October 26, 2017, the Traverse City Area Public Schools Board of Education will host its monthly Coffee Conversation from6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Horizon Books (243 E. Front Street).

Super Heroes for Willow Hill Elementary School Fundraiser—October 20th

On Friday, October 20, 2017, students at Willow Hill Elementary School (1250 Hill Street) will participate in a fundraiser for the school called “Super Heroes for Willow Hill.” Students will learn about fitness, teamwork, and school spirit as they run, walk, and move around a course to raise money.

Safe Routes to Central Grade School Walking and Biking Audit—September 27th

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., the City of Traverse City Safe Routes to School team will host a Walking and Biking Audit at Central Grade School to assess routes students use to walk and bike to school.

West Middle School Earns Michigan Interscholastic Press Association Award

Last year, Traverse City West Middle School submitted its yearbook “Watermark” for a Spartan critique by the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA) for the first time and received the highest honor, a Spartan Award.

Girls’ and boys’ Nordic ski, bowling, and boys’ golf coaches named

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to announce the selection of Ruth Oppliger as the Traverse City Central High School Varsity Girls’ and Boys’ Head Nordic Ski Coach, Sharon Vreeland as the Varsity Girls’ and Boys’ Head Bowling Coach, and Fred Mawson as the Boys’ Head Golf Coach.
