Superintendent's Message

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) continues to work in partnership with a caring community to prepare every student with the knowledge and strategies for a lifetime of successful learning and responsible global citizenship. The 2008-2009 Annual Report is a reflection of how TCAPS is ensuring successful student achievement for all students through the quality of our comprehensive educational system. From statistical documentaztion of the District's educational accomplishments to the highlights and success stories of students and staff noted in this report, TCAPS is a solid structure that continues to exceed standards and deliver outstanding student outcomes.

High quality teachers and commitment to continuing education and training are all key parts to the success of our District. The outstanding reputation TCAPS has earned statewide is evident by an investment quality rating from both Standard and Poor's and Moody's that falls in the "Double A" category.

The combination of people and processess we have in place gives us reason to honor our accomplishments. TCAPS will continue to strive to reach higher levels of student achievement in the years to come through quality staff plus quality programs that ensure success for all students.
